Applications, Applications, Applications

I am a relatively organized person, but somehow I accidentally looked over applying for college next year! So this upcoming week, my parents and I are getting serious about getting the applications in; Christmas Break conveniently starts this Wednesday.
I have some classes I am taking through an alternative high school, where you do online courses and packets to make up credits or get ahead. In my case I am getting ahead. Sometimes it is really hard to hunker down and actually get them done though, and my dad has come up with the strangest ways of motivating me. He says he will pay for my snowboarding pass to Sundance this season if I finish my Financial Literacy class before Christmas Break starts! That means I have today after school to finish up three huge projects, and then I will take the test on Tuesday.
After a relaxing break off work, I am on the schedule again and am working tonight and guess when else? Christmas Eve. I guess there are upsides and downsides to working then. Downside is that my family will have to wait for me to get home in order to follow through with our regular Christmas traditions, such as reading the Christmas story and ugly pajamas from grandparents. The upside is that there is big potential for pity tips!!!

Hello Again

It has been a while since I've written. Many things have happened since last time, good and bad. I'm a SENIOR in high school! My older brother is on his mission now in Madrid, Spain. Pretty much all my guy friends graduated and are either in the Marines or bumming it around Utah valley. I'm still involved with the advanced cooking team, and journalism. I dropped ballroom because I was planning on snowboarding this winter, but until I make enough money, I cant buy a pass :( My life seems mainly the same since this time last year. I'm waitressing at Winger's now! It has been really interesting to start a new job and learning the menu and becoming friends with employees. The Winger's Christmas party was last Monday and besides the fact that I was the only sober person there, I had a lot of fun. I played pool against a drunken couple and was surprised about how close the game was. You'd think I would have no problem winning because of my soberness. I guess that is what happens when the pool table at your house becomes a storage table. Ha ha

Prefrence

A big plus in high school are the dances. A big girl's choice dance is coming up on february 7th, prefrence. I'm planning on asking my date by having the school cop arrest him, give him his rights and then say. "now that you're handcuffed, will you go to prefrence with Emily?" Here's hoping it works!
